Job Summary:

This position serves as an Anesthesiologist at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, providing anesthesia care for patients with all anesthesia classifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of pain relief and maintenance or restoration, of a stable condition during and immediately following a surgical procedure or an obstetric or diagnostic procedure.
  • Assess risk of the patient undergoing surgery and optimize the condition of the patient prior to, during, and after surgery.
  • Assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia including performance of history and physical examination.
  • Medical management of patients during the peri-operative period who are under physical and emotional stress.
  • Obtain informed consent in conformance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Insertion of temporary pacemaker for life-threatening arrhythmias.
  • Provides direction and clinical oversight related to the medical practice of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA's).

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm

Requirements:

  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology, Regional Anesthesia Skills Preferred
  • Active practice in all forms of anesthesiology
