Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain steel production equipment, including CNC burning tables, band saws, and overhead cranes, to ensure efficient and safe production.
  • Read and execute work orders to meet customer requirements, ensuring timely delivery and quality of products.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager to ensure smooth production operations and meet productivity targets.
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of material and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless production operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge in steel production and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Steel knowledge and experience in steel production equipment operation (1 year preferred)
  • CNC Machine Operator experience (1 year)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and receive oral instructions
  • Ability to use basic computer applications and demonstrate intermediate math skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision

Working Conditions

The Machine Operator will work in a fast-paced steel production environment, with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold, and heat.
