Job Summary

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in a supportive and inclusive school environment. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a vital role in shaping the foundation of communication skills for students across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough speech and language evaluations to assess the communication needs of students across all grade levels (Kindergarten - 12th Grade).
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, counselors, and families to develop and implement IEPs tailored to support the speech and language development of students.
  • Implement Evidence-Based Interventions: Utilize a variety of evidence-based interventions and strategies to address a range of communication delays and disorders in students, including articulation difficulties, language processing challenges, fluency concerns, social communication needs, and voice disorders.
  • Provide Individual and Small Group Therapy Sessions: Provide individual and small group therapy sessions in a playful and engaging manner to promote the development of communication skills in students, adapting your approach to meet the needs of different age groups.
  • Integrate Speech and Language Interventions into the Classroom Environment: Integrate speech and language interventions into the classroom environment across all grade levels to support communication across all learning activities.
  • Monitor Student Progress and Analyze Data: Monitor student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of interventions to inform ongoing IEP goals and communication development plans for students.
  • Partner with Families: Partner with families to provide support and resources for fostering speech and language development at home.
  • Participate in Professional Development Opportunities: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in speech-language pathology for students across all grade levels.
Requirements
  • Michigan State Licensure: Michigan State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Experience Working with Students with Speech and Language Needs: Prior experience working with students with speech and language needs in a school setting is highly preferred, with experience across different age groups a plus.
  • Strong Understanding of Child Development and Language Acquisition Theories: Strong understanding of child development and language acquisition theories as they apply to students across all grade levels.
  • Expertise in Evidence-Based Interventions and Strategies: Expertise in evidence-based interventions and strategies for speech and language disorders across various age groups.
  • Excellent Communication, Collaboration, and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, general education teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in Conducting Assessments, Developing Treatment Plans, and Reporting on Student Progress: Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and reporting on student progress.
  • Passion for Helping Students Overcome Speech and Language Challenges: A passion for helping students of all ages overcome speech and language challenges and develop strong communication skills in a supportive school environment.
