About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Data Platforms team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting and leading dynamic data solutions that support our critical initiatives.

Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting large-scale distributed systems and data processing capabilities that drive business growth and innovation.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will partner with senior engineers, architects, and product owners to build scalable data pipelines and services. You will also work with the product team to understand business requirements and translate them into development/design tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior engineers, architects, and product owners to build scalable data pipelines and services.
  • Work with the product team to understand business requirements and translate them into development/design tasks.
  • Be a role model in engineering proven techniques and design/coding standards.
  • Choose the right technology stack to align with use cases and scalability.
  • Collaborate across different teams.
  • Provide technical directions and mentor other engineers.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in software design and development.
  • Crafting large-scale distributed systems and data processing experience.
  • Advanced level expertise in Java Development and System Design.
  • 2+ years of experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in NoSQL databases like Bigtable, Cassandra, HBase, etc.
  • Experience with schema design and data modeling.
  • Experience with developing extract-transform-load (ETL).
  • Working knowledge with distributed messaging systems like Kafka/Pub-sub/Service Bus.
  • Solid understanding and experience working with distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark and Flink.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate thought process effectively with other team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience in ML-Infra.
  • Knowledge of advertising platforms.
