Veteran Care Hospitalist

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a dedicated and board-eligible/board-certified Hospitalist to join our esteemed medical team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality healthcare to our nation's veterans.
Our facility is a well-equipped medical center that emphasizes both patient connection and advanced medical technology. We prioritize professional growth through mentorship and educational opportunities, ensuring our team is well-prepared to serve our veterans effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-time commitment with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, including weekends and holidays; a minimum night shift requirement every fourth rotation.
- No on-call duties required.
- Flexible scheduling options available.
- Manage care for 13 medical/surgical beds and 5 ICU beds.
- Access to 24/7 tele-critical care support.
- Average patient load of 6 to 8 patients daily.
- Engage in the academic training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Oversee inpatient care and follow-up for patients admitted to the facility.
- Provide medical consultations for inpatients in other departments.
- Participate in administrative and committee tasks aimed at enhancing patient care and clinical outcomes.
- Ensure comprehensive care, health promotion, education, and counseling for patients and their families.
- Conduct medical evaluations and manage the treatment of acutely ill hospitalized patients.
