About Kettering Health Dayton:
Kettering Health Dayton, previously known as Grandview Medical Center, has been dedicated to serving the Dayton community and its surroundings for more than 90 years.

We offer over 20 specialties, including orthopedics, heart and vascular care, surgical services, and trauma care.


Recently, KH Dayton has expanded its Emergency Department and enhanced its heart and vascular services, adding a new catheterization lab and an electrophysiology lab.

We collaborate with local markets to provide fresh produce every Tuesday within the hospital.

As one of the largest osteopathic teaching hospitals in the United States, we are proud of our achievements, including recognition as a Top 100 Hospital and receiving the Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades in 2019.

Responsibilities & Duties

Key Responsibilities:
The Environmental Services Technician II role encompasses, but is not limited to:

  • Adhering to verbal and written safety protocols
  • Executing essential cleaning tasks for assigned areas
  • Maintaining accurate records of daily duties
  • Demonstrating flexibility in response to scheduling changes or staffing shortages
  • Properly utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all job functions
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel
  • Interacting with staff and patients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Managing record-keeping and equipment storage
  • Handling regular and hazardous waste, including operating waste processing machinery
  • Conducting cleaning in sterile environments such as operating rooms and MRI facilities
  • Delivering supplies to designated locations
  • Operating laundry equipment and changing curtains as needed
  • Performing various utility tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in housekeeping or a service-related field
  • Experience in floor care
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull weights ranging from 10 to 25 pounds regularly
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality customer service for staff and patients
  • Familiarity with electronic devices such as computers and tablets
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding instructions in English
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
