Compensation: Training wage is $22.67, with 2nd Shift starting at $24.17 and Weekend Shift starting at $25.69. Flexibility to be hired for either 2nd or Weekend Shift.

Shifts Available:
2nd Shift: Mondays - Thursdays, 3:45pm - 3:30am; Fridays, 3:45pm - 8:45pm.
Weekend Shift:
Fridays - Sundays; 5:00am - 5:00pm.

Overtime Pay:
Hours over 40 for 2nd Shift are paid at time and a half.
Hours over 36 for Weekend Shift are paid at time and a half.
All shifts: Hours over 50 are paid at double time.

Role Overview:
As a Metal Fabrication Specialist at Veritas Steel's Wausau location, your responsibilities will include grinding, drilling, and fabricating bridge girder components. This may involve welding, assembly tasks, cleanup, and other duties as assigned.

You will be expected to meet production targets efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Required Skills:
- High School diploma or GED
- Strong attendance record to facilitate skill development
- Commitment to safety protocols and active participation in our safety culture
- Previous fabrication or welding experience is advantageous
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability in work performed

Daily Responsibilities:
- Drill, install high-strength bolts, and grind steel components
- Produce fillet and groove welds using SMAW, SAW, and FCAW processes
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper material storage and disposal
- Utilize appropriate safety equipment for all operations
- Collaborate with the shop supervisor and team to complete work orders efficiently and with high quality
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of pushing/moving objects requiring up to 50 lbs. of force
- Pulling requirements may reach up to 122 lbs. of force
- Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel
- Good range of motion for reaching and bending
- Dexterity in fingers and thumbs on both hands

Work Environment:
- Indoor work in a large warehouse or outdoor in various weather conditions
- Regular exposure to dirt, dust, paint fumes, noise, moving equipment, heavy steel, and other potential hazards
- Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots are mandatory.
