Internal Auditor

Ames National Corporation, a multi-bank holding company based in central Iowa, is seeking an Internal Auditor with a focus on loan compliance to join our team. As a key member of our audit team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our loan compliance processes and safeguarding company assets.

• Coordinate the consumer lending portion of the Internal Audit Program, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct independent audits and prepare written audit reports, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in affiliate bank regulatory exit meetings, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
• Manage the lending portion of the FDICIA internal control testing program, performing walkthroughs of control processes and conducting loan-specific testing.
• Assist external auditors and bank examiners as needed, ensuring a smooth audit process.
• Ensure follow-up on deficiencies cited in bank examinations, internal audits, and external audits, driving continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field.
• Five+ years' experience in bank audit, consumer lending, public accounting, or bank regulations, or any combination of listed areas.
