Job Title: Risk Engineer Sr. Consultant

Job Summary:

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Risk Engineer Sr. Consultant to join its growing team. As a Risk Engineer Sr. Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting property risk engineering field inspections of existing and prospective policyholders, identifying property risk engineering exposures and deficiencies, and providing solutions to minimize the frequency and magnitude of potential losses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform risk engineering site inspections of existing and prospective policyholders with all levels of complexity.
  • Generate technical property risk engineering reports designed to identify property risk engineering exposures and recommend appropriate controls to minimize the frequency and magnitude of potential losses.
  • Collaborate with Risk Analysts to assist insureds in solving/resolving identified property risk engineering deficiencies.
  • Occasionally partner with the Technical/Project Specialist on various projects and initiatives within the risk engineering department to further develop technical knowledge of the processes and controls specific to the operations conducted at insured locations.
  • Partner periodically with less experienced Risk Engineering Field Consultants as a mentor as part of their continued development to build skills in report generation and performing audits/managing accounts of increasing complexity.
  • Regularly coordinates with internal and external resources on risks of all levels of complexity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
  • 8-12 years in technical and/or engineering related experience.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA Codes and Standards or equivalent (Factory Mutual Guidelines).
  • Must be able to travel by car or plane.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Good command of fundamental and advanced technical concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate difficult or technical decisions with confidence and precision.
