Job Summary:

Altair is seeking a highly skilled Senior CAE Durability Engineer - Body Structure to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and guiding the design process using CAE tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess performance in durability and stiffness of body structure using nCode DesignLife and Optistruct.
  • Develop and debug full vehicle durability models using pre-processing tools like ANSA/HYPERMESH.
  • Post-process durability and stiffness simulation results using nCode/HYPERWORKS.
  • Suggest recommendations for improving design based on simulation results.
  • Correlate CAE results with test data from component and vehicle testing.
  • Apply advanced methods like DOE/DFSS to optimize design.
  • Create reports to present simulation results and achieved improvements.
  • Communicate with design team, manufacturing team, and suppliers to achieve desired vehicle performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
  • 8+ years of experience in performing body structure durability analysis for an OEM.
  • Experience with using nCode, Optistruct/NASTRAN, ANSA, and HYPERWORKS.
  • Experience with performing Random Vibration analysis.
  • Experience with planning RLDA and 4-poster tests.
  • Experience with correlation of CAE and Test results.
  • Knowledge of optimization tools and techniques using Optistruct.
  • Knowledge of applying engineering fundamentals in the development.
  • Ability to work independently from start to end.
  • Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Act as a team player and problem solver.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PHD.
