Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate patient records, including demographics, medication lists, and insurance information.
- Utilize pharmacy management systems to screen for drug interactions and process prescriptions.
- Assist with patient financial assistance and prior authorizations.
- Act as a resource for staff on dispensing oral medications and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Process and verify drug orders, and maintain inventory control.
- Prepare and label prescriptions, and ensure accuracy by physician or pharmacist review.
- Document patient interactions and maintain daily reports.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; experience in retail pharmacy setting preferred.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate recommended, unless required by state law.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
The work environment for this role is fast-paced and dynamic, with regular exposure to direct contact with patients and potential for exposure to toxic substances and chemotherapeutic agents.
