Position Overview

The Structural Engineer position offers extensive engineering support within a dynamic design-build framework, focusing on tanks and related structures for municipal and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engineering expertise for large-scale, field-constructed storage tanks. Conduct analysis and design for steel plate and reinforced concrete frameworks. Evaluate geotechnical reports to inform the design of intricate foundations.
  • Implement customer requirements, design guidelines, and regulatory standards, including AWWA D107 & D100, IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
  • Supervise and manage detailing tasks; prepare and authenticate calculations and drawings.
  • Engage in post-design services for troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Provide specialized support and collaborate closely with various departments: QA/QC, Safety, Construction Operations, Project Management, and Procurement.
  • Coordinate with estimators to develop bid designs; assess vendor submissions.
  • Design construction apparatus and systems; formulate erection methodologies.
  • Design ancillary structures using wood, masonry, structural, and cold-formed steel.
Required Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering
Experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer, or the capability to obtain licensure.
  • A minimum of five years in a design engineering capacity for comparable structures.
  • Hands-on experience with the construction of storage tank projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant codes and standards: AWWA, IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Design-Build projects.
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
  • Practical knowledge of storage tank fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency in drafting software, including AutoCAD/Inventor.
