Job Opportunity

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at a correctional facility in Stockton, CA.


Position Details
  • Psychiatric Program
  • 40 Hours per week
  • Location: Stockton, CA
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm (3 day weekend)
  • Rate: $54-$60hr ($2,160-2,400/week)

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Institution's CEO or designee, the Recreational Therapist will be responsible for developing and implementing specialized recreation therapy services to CDCR Patient-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth.

  • Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to promote social interaction and encourage beneficial utilization of leisure time.
  • Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) and coordinate services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and other custody personnel.
  • Evaluate recreation therapy needs for Patients-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth with particular attention to activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies.
