Job Overview

Metro Kia of Madison is excited to announce the expansion of our Express Service Department. We are in search of a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team. Candidates with experience in a fast-paced oil change environment are preferred. The position offers a structured schedule with weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and rotating Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, along with potential sign-on bonuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct tests to ensure systems and components are secure and functioning correctly
  • Identify systems or components that may have caused issues
  • Perform test drives and inspect fluid levels, refilling as necessary
  • Check tire pressure for proper inflation and maintain cleanliness of fittings
  • Install new oil drain plugs and filters, communicating oil levels to team members
  • Maintain high efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
  • Proactively repair or replace worn parts to prevent vehicle breakdowns
  • Utilize power tools, machine tools, and hand tools for various tasks
Qualifications Required
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and quick diagnostic skills
  • Excellent analytical and communication abilities with a desire for continuous improvement
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, repair techniques, and specifications
  • Proficient in operating electronic diagnostic tools
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory
  • ASE Certification or Technical Degree is preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in a service department
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screening
