Transportation Engineer

The Transportation Engineer performs a wide range of engineering duties throughout the project development, construction, traffic operations, planning, local assistance, environmental, maintenance, and program/project & asset management phases. As a key member of the Department of Transportation, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing transportation systems and infrastructure projects that meet the needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform engineering duties in project development, construction, traffic operations, planning, local assistance, environmental, maintenance, and program/project & asset management phases.
- Design, develop, and implement transportation systems and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private sector partners, to ensure that transportation projects meet the needs of the community.
- Develop and implement transportation policies and programs that promote safe and efficient transportation systems.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify transportation needs and develop solutions to address them.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other written materials to stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.
- Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

The selected candidate will also be eligible for telework and may be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs.
