Job Summary:
The Network Lead role is responsible for overseeing the configuration, installation, and maintenance of Cisco solutions for a California State Agency.
This position involves leading a team of network engineers, ensuring the successful delivery and maintenance of networking solutions, and coordinating with various stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the primary Network Lead for the California State Agency.
2. Oversee the configuration, installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of technical networking solutions for the customer.
3. Lead assessments, planning, design, configuration, installation, and support of networking solutions.
4. Validate solution designs, bills of materials, statements of work, and labor estimates when appropriate.
5. Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely tracking of client work, service calls, and related documentation.
6. Coordinate travel between Agency sites, ensuring team members have reliable transportation.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. At least 7 years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
2. Extensive Cisco networking experience, including Cisco Wireless.
3. Proficiency with network monitoring, management, and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
4. Familiarity with other networking products and technologies, including Palo Alto, F5, NSX/Forescout.
5. Ability to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving or troubleshooting skills.
7. Excellent time management skills.
8. Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
9. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required during client cutovers.
10. High level of independence and strong client service skills. Organizational ability is crucial to keep track of all tasks, due to the necessity of multi-tasking.
11. Must be a team player, yet work well independently.
12. Adept at managing tasks assigned by management or team leads.
13. Must have reliable transportation.
14. Must supply a reliable cell phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree.
2. At least one major vendor certification (Cisco CCNP, CCIE) or equivalent experience.
