Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Embryologist to join our team at Illume Fertility. As a key member of our embryology laboratory, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to human assisted reproduction techniques, including sperm preparation, embryo culture, and fertilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embryology Laboratory Operations
    • Prepare and portion culture media
    • Culture dish preparation
    • Sperm preparation for IUI and IVF
    • Semen analysis with strict morphology
    • Sperm cryopreservation, storage, and thawing
    • Epididymal/Testicular sperm processing for IVF
    • Oocyte identification
    • Conventional Insemination
    • Hyaluronidase treatment of oocytes
    • ICSI (Intra-cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) Insemination
    • Fertilization check
    • Embryo culture and grading
    • Assisted Hatching with Laser
    • Embryo transfer
    • Embryo discard
    • Embryo cryopreservation and thaw
    • Embryo vitrification and warm
    • IVF instrument preparation
  • Recording and Reporting
    • Record and report laboratory results
    • Equipment maintenance
    • QC of media, instruments, and other disposable materials
  • Patient Interaction
    • Teaching/training of new personnel
    • Patient communication
  • Professional Development
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
    • Keep abreast of the latest research, evaluate, and initiate new procedures to enhance the capabilities of the lab
    • Initiate research projects, including submission of abstracts for review for possible oral or poster presentations
    • Attend professional meetings to maintain peer networks and keep abreast of new technologies and research
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Medical Technology, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Embryologist 1
  • Andrology experience required
  • General knowledge and operation of laboratory equipment
  • Extensive computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete on-the-job training provided within the Introductory Period
  • Ability to complete certification examinations within an appropriate timeframe required by accrediting bodies
  • Ability to supply copies of degrees, certifications, training, and transcripts for personnel files
