We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Human Resource Specialist to join our team at Panasonic Energy of North America. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a vital role in supporting Japanese expatriates transitioning to the United States.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive support to Japanese expatriates and their families, including obtaining social security numbers, driver's licenses, housing searches, school selection, English language instruction, and scheduling medical appointments.
- Assist with pre-onboarding processes, such as communication with new expatriates, HRIS registration, laptop/mobile phone orders, and working with the IT team.
- Conduct new hire orientations and culture difference training for Japanese expatriates, covering basic knowledge about the local area and work environment/rules.
- Manage HR procedures for expatriates' arrival and leave, collaborating with Regional Headquarters as needed.
- Run regular payroll and reimbursement processes, working closely with the local HR payroll team.
- Process tax-related events with the local HR payroll team and third-party companies.
- Assist with VISA applications and renewals, working with immigration specialists.
- Provide support to visitors, arranging hotel accommodations, transportation, and daily living necessities, working closely with third-party companies.
- Create and improve support programs for visitors.
- Assist the HR team with administrative issues related to employees.
- Resolve HR matters related to Japanese expatriates and visitors, collaborating with the Japanese HR team as needed.
- Transport Japanese expatriates to appointments as required.
- Working-level knowledge of English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Native-level Japanese speaking, writing, and reading skills.
- Fluency in English and Japanese, both verbal and written.
- A valid driver's license in good standing.
