Overview

As a Part-Time Book Sales Associate, your primary responsibility is to enhance the customer experience by delivering outstanding service through our core principles. You will engage customers by sharing your expertise on our products and services, ensuring their needs are met while embodying our values.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide exceptional customer service that drives sales and fosters high customer satisfaction.
  2. Implement our core service principles: present the book to the customer, offer to place special orders, promote membership programs, and ensure efficient checkout.
  3. Welcome and build rapport with customers, initiating conversations about our offerings to identify their needs and suggest suitable products.
  4. Accurately and promptly process all customer transactions.
  5. Share your knowledge and enthusiasm for our products, creating a personalized shopping experience for multiple customers simultaneously.
  6. Address customer inquiries and concerns, facilitating successful sales.
  7. Encourage customer loyalty through effective promotion of Memberships, gift cards, and other sales initiatives.
  8. Communicate specific product demands to management to maintain appropriate stock levels of popular titles.
  9. Maintain the selling floor by restocking items, organizing displays, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the store.
  10. Support business development initiatives and in-store events.
  11. Assist in various store areas as required.
  12. Adhere to inventory management and loss prevention protocols.
  13. Help onboard new team members, ensuring they adapt smoothly to our bookselling environment.

Qualifications

  • Passion for retail and sales.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to spend significant time on the sales floor, involving physical activities such as standing, bending, lifting, and climbing.
  • Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet store requirements.
