Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Estimator to coordinate fabricated structural steel and miscellaneous metals for commercial and industrial projects. As an estimator, you'll be responsible for estimating costs, overseeing project plans, and reviewing specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quantitative takeoffs and review project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Demonstrate leadership ability to coordinate a team to develop an estimate
  • Determine labor and equipment costs
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
  • Understand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standards
  • Review quotes and estimates with the project team
  • Prepare estimates at different levels of completion (conceptual, schematic, DD, CD)
  • Coordinate pre-construction duties and meetings with owners, clients, and engineers
  • Serve as company interface between owner & architect

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of steel estimating experience
  • Advanced computer skills with estimating software
  • Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
  • Understanding of aspects of structural steel and misc. metal concepts
