Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emerging Assistant General Manager II to join our team at Walmart. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse and distribution center, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service and that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of warehouse and distribution center operations, including receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage a team of logistics and operations professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, merchandising, and transportation, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (e.g., management, logistics, business administration, financial management, production/operations management).
  • 2 years of experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
  • Experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager, including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
  • 4 years of experience in a senior management role in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Both Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., management, logistics, business administration, financial management, production/operations management) and 3 years of experience in a senior management role in an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
  • Experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager, including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, managing P&L, developing manpower forecasts, monitoring regulatory compliance, and analyzing financial/operational data.
  • Senior-level experience managing multiple functional areas (e.g., receiving, shipping, QA, order filling) within a warehouse or Logistics network.
Work Environment

This role is based in Greencastle, IN, and requires regular attendance at the warehouse and distribution center. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics and operations principles and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer

Walmart offers a competitive salary range of $79,000.00-$169,000.00, as well as annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and stock. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k), stock purchase, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off benefits include PTO (including sick leave), parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting.
