Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Response Dispatcher to join our team at the City of Lancaster Police Department.

In this role, you will be responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police personnel and equipment, and maintaining accurate records. You will work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing critical information and assistance to citizens.
  • Dispatch police personnel and equipment to incidents according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls, incidents, and responses.
  • Collaborate with other emergency service agencies to facilitate efficient emergency response operations.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience as a dispatcher or in a law enforcement-related field is highly desirable.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Peace Officer's Standards and Training (POST) Basic Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate within one year of employment.

Salary: $38,000 - $48,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
