Our Consumer Defense Practice

Our Consumer Defense Section is a highly respected group of attorneys dedicated to representing the financial services industry, including collection agencies, creditors, banks, debt buyers, student loan servicers, telemarketers, and other financial institutions. We are committed to providing exceptional legal representation and strategic guidance to our clients.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Associate - Consumer Defense Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Defending consumer law cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States, with a special focus on handling class actions.
  • Managing all stages of litigation, from initial information gathering, analyzing case law, completing discovery (including depositions), and handling hearings and trials.
  • Working closely with senior attorneys and partners to develop action plans and strategies.
  • Engaging directly with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Coordinating with local counsel.
  • Managing cases with insurance risk managers.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A JD Degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • One of the following: top 1/2 of law school class, law review, and/or moot court.
  • Consumer defense experience is preferred, but not required; insurance coverage experience is helpful.
  • Licensure in more than one state and federal court admissions are helpful.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Comfortable in a paperless environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Ability to analyze cases and develop strategy.
  • Independent and highly motivated.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communications skills.
