Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our team at Victoria Independent School District. As an Elementary Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our future leaders and contributing to the academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver the district curriculum and prepare lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment to meet the needs of students. Work collaboratively with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students. Use technology to enhance the teaching-learning process and plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.

Student Growth and Development

Help students analyze and improve their study methods and habits. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and be a positive role model for students, supporting the mission of the school district.

Classroom Management and Organization

Create a classroom environment that fosters learning and is conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Communication

Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Professional Growth and Development

Participate in professional development activities to improve job-related skills. Stay informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
