POSITION SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be tasked with the upkeep, servicing, and repair of plant machinery. Responsibilities include executing preventive maintenance and completing work orders. This role is under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Shift: Night shift
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conducting scheduled preventive maintenance as per the maintenance system, documenting actions taken within the required timeframe.
- Providing emergency repairs for equipment and generating work orders for scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Performing skilled repair services and installations across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Responding to facility maintenance service requests, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions in accordance with best practices.
- Identifying and communicating necessary improvements for equipment and facility operations.
- Collaborating with operations staff on daily challenges and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Executing complete rebuilds of equipment as assigned and performing preventive maintenance on a significant portion of operational machinery.
- Managing communication and approval processes for subcontractor work related to facility or equipment.
- Identifying required replacement parts and placing orders as necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Creating and completing all work orders for tasks performed, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Maintaining clean and organized maintenance and repair areas.
- Documenting daily shift reports on work status.
- Carrying out other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Five to ten years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a Certified Boiler Operator License, or the ability to obtain one within one year.
- CARO Refrigeration Certification, or the ability to obtain one within one year.
- Electrical License, or the ability to obtain one within four years.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent time management abilities.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the food and beverage industry is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
- Ability to guide, coach, and train others.
- Strong consultative, influential, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position necessitates sufficient physical capability to operate in a production environment.
FREQUENT: Ability to communicate effectively; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; operate machinery and equipment using hands and fingers.
OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder height, and wearing a dust mask while performing confined entry tasks. Exposure to hazardous chemicals may occur.
VISION: Ability to utilize close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision. Must be able to identify obstacles and potential hazards in a fast-paced production setting.
HEARING: Ability to hear within the normal audio range. Exposure to noise from machinery and equipment is expected.
