This role is responsible for greeting, pre-registering, and registering patients in a courteous and professional manner, verifying insurance benefits, and checking for pre-certification, authorization, and referral requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-register and register patients in a timely and accurate manner
- Verify insurance benefits and check for pre-certification, authorization, and referral requirements
- Secure patient signatures for required hospital forms and collection of patient's financial responsibility when required
- Provide professional, quality customer service and timely resolution to customer problems
- Coordinate services to all customers and communicate revenue cycle-related issues to patients, physicians, physician office staff, and other hospital colleagues
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Associate degree (preferred)
- Minimum one (1) year experience in insurance verification and medical office/hospital customer service
