Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance Technician performs acceptance inspections of raw materials, components, tooling, fixtures, and assemblies to documented inspection plans using various metrology. This position is responsible for adhering to and promoting the company's documented Quality Management System procedures and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with inspection plans or instructions
  • Legibly record inspection results
  • Perform mechanical measurements using metrology such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, drop gage, optical comparator, and CMM
  • Conduct visual inspections using a microscope
  • Identify, segregate, and report non-conformances discovered
  • Prepare final source inspection documentation
  • Prepare First Article Inspection documentation
  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as an inspector preferred
  • OpenDMIS CMM software preferred
  • GD&T certification preferred
Competencies
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints (GD&T is a plus)
  • Ability to read and understand material certification and industry specifications for materials
  • Competent in the use of mechanical metrology such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, drop gage, optical comparator (programming is a plus), and CMM (programming is a plus)
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere as a contributing member

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to differentiate colors
  • Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch
