Position Overview:

The Logistics Program Manager serves as the principal administrator for the Logistics Section within the Bureau of Response. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing various units including Contractor & Vendor Management, State Warehousing & Assets, and Facilities & Fleet Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Contractor & Vendor Management Unit to ensure timely sourcing, procurement, and delivery of resources in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners at local, state, and federal levels to secure necessary resources at optimal rates.
  • Manage the State Warehousing & Asset Unit, ensuring effective inventory management and warehousing practices to meet operational demands.
  • Support logistics and operational services at the Division's Headquarters and Warehousing locations.
  • Supervise the Fleet & Facilities Operations Unit, ensuring comprehensive management of fleet and facility lifecycle, including planning for renovations and equipment management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutes, contract deliverables, and federal regulations across all units.
  • Develop and maintain essential plans, policies, and procedures to identify resources and capabilities supporting the Bureau's mission.
  • Provide technical assistance to partners regarding logistics systems utilized by the Bureau.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Bureau Leadership, including emergency response responsibilities during activations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Emergency Management, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years in Logistics & Support Services Management.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in program management and development is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of logistics management principles and practices.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and develop personnel.
  • Proficient in computer-based reporting and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.

This position is essential for ensuring the effective management of logistics operations within the State of Florida's emergency management framework.
