Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Culinary Team Member to join our team at Taziki's Cafe. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare fresh food items daily and accurately, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Station Setup and Stocking: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ensuring that everything is clean and organized.
  • Menu and Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our menu and products, including ingredients, preparation methods, and nutritional information.
  • Order Management: Manage orders efficiently, ensuring that all orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Catering Orders: Prepare and package catering orders to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Food Handling and Storage: Properly handle and store food products, ensuring that all food is stored at the correct temperature and handled safely.
  • Hygiene and Uniform: Maintain proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.
  • Health Department Standards: Maintain health department standards throughout each shift, ensuring that all food and equipment are handled and stored safely.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain kitchen, dish, and prep areas, ensuring that all equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitized.
  • Shift-Side Work: Perform shift-side work, including opening and closing duties, to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience: Experienced preferred but not required - we will train you.
  • Knife Skills: Proper knife skills are essential for this role.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate all necessary kitchen equipment.
  • Communication: Good communication skills are necessary for effective teamwork and customer service.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team as necessary.
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic with passion and urgency is essential for this role.
  • Reliability: Dependable and reliable, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Professional Attitude: Professional attitude and respect for coworkers, the establishment, and the brand are essential for success in this role.
Working Conditions and Hours

A typical work day at Taziki's Cafe may include:

  • Morning Shift: 8am - 4pm.
  • Evening Shift: 4pm - 10pm.
  • Weekends: When applicable.
  • Holidays: When applicable (always CLOSED Thanksgiving & Christmas).

Hours will vary by store. You'll work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment, which includes but is not limited to using equipment such as a flattop and char grill, oven, slicer, mixer, and food processor.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged Standing: Prolonged standing is required for this role.
  • Bending: Bending is necessary for tasks such as reaching and lifting.
  • Stooping: Stooping is required for tasks such as cleaning and maintenance.
  • Twisting: Twisting is necessary for tasks such as reaching and lifting.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds is required for this role.
  • Cooking: Cooking is an essential part of this role.
