Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Unity Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Collect and transport blood samples to the laboratory for testing.
  • Assist patients with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Assist with clerical tasks, such as charting and data entry.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved PCT program or completion of Unity Health's PCA II Course.
  • Training in phlebotomy and EKG procedures preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move patients, push carts and wheelchairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions

The Patient Care Technician will work in a hospital setting, with exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids, and noxious smells from cleansing agents. The position requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
