Triage Registered Nurse

- The Triage Registered Nurse is a skilled professional responsible for orchestrating and delivering patient care through the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. This role demands critical thinking and appropriate consultation with providers, operating within the highest scope of practice and training.
- Engagement in interdisciplinary collaboration is essential, utilizing available community resources to enhance patient care.
Salary Range: $35.82/hr to $66.24/hr based on experience. Skagit Regional Health provides a comprehensive benefits package for employees working 20 or more hours per week, including:

- Deliver Telehealth nursing services, including consultation, triage, surveillance, and follow-up for patients.
- Effectively prioritize and manage workload in a dynamic environment with unpredictable call volumes.
- Conduct in-person triage for patients with urgent or emergent needs.
- Assist healthcare providers as necessary to ensure efficient departmental workflow.
- Coordinate and facilitate patient scheduling for acute, specialty, or routine care appointments, including referrals.
- Exhibit proficiency in applying clinical knowledge relevant to the specific clinic setting.
- Consider cultural, spiritual, and psychosocial factors impacting patient interactions and adherence to healthcare plans.
- Utilize critical thinking and assessment skills to adhere to provider-approved protocols and manage medication refills.
- Educate patients on test results and medical conditions, ensuring clarity in communication.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of frequently used medications and research unfamiliar ones.
- Stay familiar with all clinic forms and documentation processes.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-improvement.
- Demonstrate leadership in nursing practice and support team members as needed.
- Respond to emergency codes effectively.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Clinical Supervisor to orient new team members and assess trainee performance.
- Act as a clinical resource for department staff, fostering professional growth and development.
Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a clinic or acute care setting preferred, with a strong preference for experience in the relevant specialty.
Licenses/Certifications:- Current Washington State RN License required.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
- Ambulatory Care Nursing certification or relevant specialty certification is encouraged.
This position is based in a clinical setting, requiring in-person attendance.
