About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Code Enforcement Specialist to join our team at SAFEbuilt. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and respond to allegations of code violations, determining the validity of complaints and taking appropriate action to mitigate issues.
  • Notify property owners and occupants of code violations in writing, by phone, or in person, and electronically.
  • Schedule and conduct systematic property maintenance inspections to ensure compliance with minimum property standards.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports related to abatements, court actions, daily activities, enforcement actions, and inspections.
  • Compile documentation for and issue summonses as necessary.
Requirements
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, citizens, and elected officials, handling sensitive or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make presentations and communicate effectively in writing.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain city codes and site plans, maps, and work plans.
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in enforcement, security, or compliance-related work, including investigating allegations, conducting research, and resolving complaints, concerns, or conflicts.
  • ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
