Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Code Enforcement Specialist to join our team at SAFEbuilt. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enforcing municipal, land development, and property maintenance codes to ensure compliance and maintain community standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate allegations of code violations and determine the appropriate course of action to mitigate issues.
  • Conduct systematic property maintenance inspections to ensure compliance with minimum property standards.
  • Prepare records and reports related to abatements, court actions, daily activities, enforcement actions, and inspections.
  • Compile documentation for and issue summons as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, citizens, and elected officials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including making presentations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain city codes and site plans, maps, and work plans.
  • Good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in enforcement, security, compliance-related work, including investigating allegations, conducting research, and resolving complaints, concerns, or conflicts.
  • ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
