Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water/Wastewater Maintenance Technician to join our team at Government Jobs. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing technical and mechanical work associated with installation, repair, and maintenance at our water treatment plants, water resource recovery facilities, wastewater lift stations, lakes, water booster pump stations, water tanks, and related systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and motors.
  • Conduct water quality tests and analyze results to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, blowers, and clarifiers.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on wastewater lift stations, including pumps, motors, and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of water and wastewater systems.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Conduct training and provide guidance to junior staff members.
Requirements
  • Valid Grade II Water Operator certification, Grade II Wastewater Operator certification, or Grade I (C) Public Wastewater Collection Systems Operator certification within twelve (12) months of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in water/wastewater maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
