Crossing Guard

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Crossing Guard to join our team at West Ada School District. As a Crossing Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our students as they cross streets to access school grounds.

• Operate standard crosswalk and related safety equipment to provide a safe environment for students to cross busy streets.
• Provide traffic and pedestrian control to prevent accidents and ensure student safety.
• Report hazardous conditions, situations, drivers, and violations to the building Principal or police, as directed.
• Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures, and safety practices.
• May perform lunchroom, playground, bus, and other monitoring duties as assigned.

• Basic traffic laws and procedures.
• Basic traffic control and pedestrian safety methods, techniques, and objectives.
• School rules and behavior requirements.
• Disciplinary and behavior modification methods and techniques.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

• Must have a valid Idaho Driver's License and a vehicle to drive and/or must provide own transportation for job-related activities.
• Job tasks require climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
