Job Title: Financial Intake Coordinator PRN Nights

At Oceans Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Intake Coordinator to join our team on a PRN basis, working nights on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00pm to 7:00am. This remote position requires you to be based in the Lafayette area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify insurance coverage and ensure accurate notation of important benefits information.
  • Approve required deposits and make administrative adjustments based on financial and/or clinical need.
  • Ensure active patient accounts receive documented follow-up using the patient accounting tickler system.
  • Classify and/or reclassify patient accounts as necessary.
  • Approve and post adjustments and refunds accurately and timely.
  • Resolve accounting problems, including disputed amounts and credit balances, by arranging payment for non-covered or poorly covered services, patients, and/or guarantors.
  • Update code and vendor lists as required for the Intake process.
  • Prepare and report credit information to Trispan and UNYSIS quarterly.
  • Provide cost report information and perform monthly closing accurately and timely.
  • Ensure billing logs are accurate.
Requirements:
  • Able to read and write.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Extensive experience with data entry, clerical, finance, and accounting abilities.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a related field with knowledge and understanding of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Versatile, flexible, and able to perform in stressful situations.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work with an array of mentally/physically disabled persons in an age/disability, culturally sensitive manner.
  • Excellent assertive communication skills, knowledge, and in-depth understanding of chemical dependency/psychiatric treatment.
  • Able to organize and prioritize high-volume workloads.
  • Interacts well with the general public in a stress-oriented position.
  • Analyze and utilize data and systems to provide individualized quality treatment in a cost-effective manner.
  • Able to function with minimal supervision and complete understanding and respect for patient confidentiality.
