About the Property Financial Analyst Role

We are looking for a talented Property Financial Analyst who will oversee general ledger accounting tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations and the creation of monthly financial reporting packages for properties. This role involves managing the financial aspects for 6-10 properties, collaborating with property managers and regional leadership to ensure precise, timely, and comprehensive financial execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze financial data for month-end and year-end close, including preparing supporting schedules and work papers.
  • Generate monthly reporting packages for 6-10 properties, encompassing financial statements and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and verify the accuracy and completeness of general ledger activities.
  • Manage cash operations, including cash application and reconciliations.
  • Work closely with property managers and regional leadership to ensure timely and accurate pre-close activities.
  • Proactively engage with clients regarding property profitability and address inquiries promptly.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new properties to ensure correct setup and produce accurate financial statements.
  • Execute other related duties or special projects as required.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in an accounting role is essential.
  • Preferred experience includes three or more years in multifamily property management accounting.
  • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager or similar systems is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP is required.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Capability to perform advanced mathematical functions.
  • Experience in cash forecasting, planning, and management.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.
  • Capacity to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Scheduling

Typically, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Environment

Standard office environment.
