Plasma Processing Specialist

CSL Plasma is seeking a highly skilled Plasma Processing Technician to join our team. As a Plasma Processing Technician, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping, and storage of plasma collected from donors.
Key Responsibilities- Collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
- Ensure plasma units are properly stored according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which may include unsuitable plasma units and samples.
- Verify the accuracy of unit labeling by checking the pre-printed label against the dynamic label.
- Utilize sterile technique to draw samples and use a heat sealer to ensure the sterility and quality of plasma unit samples, as per SOPs.
- May be responsible for packing and shipping plasma units in accordance with SOPs and center procedures, as well as preparing shipping and unit disposal documentation.
- Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and notify appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly, recording any variances.
- Conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs.
- Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system, as outlined in SOPs.
- Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper-immune programs at the center, if applicable.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed, and follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
- May be required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a laboratory or warehouse environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
- Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
- Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time.
- Reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity.
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
