Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner is a vital member of our healthcare team, working in collaboration with physicians to deliver high-quality patient care. This advanced practice RN is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver healthcare services to patients within their scope of certification and education.
- Work in collaboration with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Mississippi State Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current certification in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- One year of advanced nursing experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
The Nurse Practitioner will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. The position requires frequent movement throughout the facility and occasional travel to other locations within the Singing River Health System service area.
Physical Demands:
The Nurse Practitioner will be required to sit for extended periods, move about the office and facility, and travel to other locations. The position involves exerting a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The Nurse Practitioner will be exposed to body fluids, sputum, and tissues, which may carry the hazard of infectious disease.
Mental Demands:
The Nurse Practitioner must demonstrate keen mental faculties, assessment, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication, speaking, and enunciation skills are required to receive and give information in person and by telephone. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain collaborative working relationships is essential.
Special Demands:
The Nurse Practitioner must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette. Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer, MS Outlook, and Word are required.
