About the Position

The Director of the Harc Steppingstones Birth to Three state contracted program will play a crucial role in advancing the Connecticut Birth to Three mission and vision. This leadership position collaborates with the Senior Director to ensure effective implementation of best practices, develop family-centered positive outcome focused activities, provide specialized training, build beneficial community relationships and resources, and remain on the cutting edge of early intervention service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Reporting Assistance: Monitor program operations, ensure compliance to the Connecticut Birth to Three mission, vision, policies and procedures, and advocate in the interest of infants and toddlers with special needs.
  • Advance Harc's Mission: Ensure adherence to Harc agency policy and procedures, further Harc's strategic plan, attend agency activities, and lead trainings to support mastery of early intervention service delivery.
  • Staff Management and Training Assistance: Supervise and serve as a resource for the transdisciplinary birth to three team, mentor coaching of family coaches, monitor service quality and staff development, and participate in and/or lead training and supervision of new employees.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of respect and accountability, strong problem-solving skills, excellent organization and time management, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and commitment to supporting children and families to maximize capacity building.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid professional Connecticut licensure or certification, demonstrated experience working with families and young children in early intervention, and proficiency in Google and associated applications.
  • Creative problem solving and strong communication skills necessary, efficiency in productivity and deadline management, and ability to work effectively in a transdisciplinary team.
