About Assets ProtectionAssets Protection (AP) teams play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and fraud to ensure product availability.
Job SummaryThe Security Specialist role is a key position within the Assets Protection team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests and team members. This role involves using intelligence-led tactics to prevent and respond to security incidents, as well as providing support to both guests and team members.
Key Responsibilities- Support Sales: Welcome and engage guests and team members at the front of store, creating a positive shopping experience.
- Lead Physical Security: Assess and maintain safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
- Respond to Security Incidents: Accurately document security incidents and respond accordingly.
- Understand Escalation Tools: Leverage escalation tools for guest issues to provide a safe and secure environment.
- Conduct Merchandise Recoveries: Perform productive merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support as needed.
- Prevent Theft and Shortage: Perform receipt checks for exposed high-dollar merchandise to prevent theft and shortage.
- Submit Documentation: Submit appropriate documentation in the system for all incidents following AP policy and procedures.
- Understand Video System: Understand and appropriately use the video system.
- Model Safe Work Practices: Work safely and maintain a clean store for guests and team members.
- Provide Guest Service: Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest.
- Demonstrate Ethical Conduct: Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Work Safely: Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others, identify and correct hazards, and comply with all safety policies and best practices.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure and Certification: Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
- Attitude and Skills: Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members, ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices, operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
- Work Style: Ability to work both independently and with a team, manage workload and prioritize tasks independently, remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment, and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
- Physical Demands: Climb up and down ladders, apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy, scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds.
- Work Schedule: Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with reliable and prompt attendance necessary.
- Environmental Factors: Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
