Position Overview:
The primary responsibilities include providing maintenance and repairs to various hospital systems and equipment to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications:
Knowledge acquired through a high school education, along with two or more years of technical training or equivalent experience.
Prior work experience with equipment repairs related to electrical, plumbing, and ventilation systems.
Demonstrated skills and ability to operate a variety of plant equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
Must possess strong overall mechanical skills.
A valid Virginia driver's license is required.
Ability to work varied shifts and schedules to meet hospital needs.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment; complete required documentation on schedule.
2. Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including unstopping drain lines and repairing leaks in traps and faucet/toilet valves.
3. Execute electrical repairs such as light switches, receptacles, ballasts, and lamp replacements.
4. Conduct various carpentry tasks, including repairing tables, desks, drawers, chairs, and doors, as well as minor painting, wall repairs, and ceiling tile replacements.
5. Move office equipment and furniture as necessary.
6. Maintain clean and safe work areas at all times, including mechanical and storage areas.
7. Respond to hospital emergencies in accordance with Hospital/Engineering Department procedures, such as fire alarms and inclement weather, while maintaining effective training for Emergency Preparedness as directed by hospital safety committees.
