Maintenance Mechanic

Smithfield Foods is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and making repairs as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, and make repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and that production schedules are met.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical role, preferably in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with production teams.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
The Maintenance Mechanic will work in a fast-paced production environment, with frequent exposure to loud noises, moving equipment, and hazardous materials. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with production teams.
