Intake Counselor Opportunity at Aurora Behavioral Health System Arizona

We are seeking a skilled Intake Counselor to join our team at Aurora Behavioral Health System Arizona. As an Intake Counselor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth admission process for patients seeking mental health and detox services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle all referrals for services, schedule assessments, and refer patients to appropriate community resources.
  • Complete level of care assessments for clients seeking inpatient and outpatient mental health and detox services.
  • Admit new patients to the hospital and coordinate with nursing, medical, and other disciplines to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Work with insurance companies to obtain pre-certification and authorization for patients' hospitalization.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a closely related field.
  • Licensed in the state of Arizona and in good standing (LAC, LPC, LASAC, LISAC, LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT, or LMFT).
  • Strong working knowledge of DSM-V criteria, community resources, assessment, and crisis intervention.
  • Experience in a behavioral healthcare hospital setting is a plus.
  • Must be 21 years old and able to pass a background check, drug screen, and meet qualifications for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
