The Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF), established in 1999, is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families across Maryland. Our mission is to connect, empower, and advocate for families dealing with mental health, substance use, and gambling challenges.
Position Summary
The Program Manager is essential in leading the training, oversight, and professional growth of Team Supervisors, who manage Family Peer Support Specialists. This role is crucial in building and sustaining partnerships that align with the organization's mission. The position requires occasional travel to the central office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Non-Profit Management Expertise: Leverage extensive experience in non-profit management to guide Team Supervisors in effectively managing programs and personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations and enhancing organizational efficiency.
- Grant Management: Exhibit proficiency in overseeing grant awards, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with grant stipulations, while managing the allocation of funds to support program initiatives.
- Training and Development: Deliver training and professional development to Team Supervisors, focusing on the unique challenges within the non-profit sector, equipping them with the necessary skills to manage grant-funded programs.
- Work Environment: Cultivate a positive and supportive work atmosphere for staff, promoting well-being and job satisfaction while addressing workplace concerns promptly.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with stakeholders to represent the organization and foster collaborative relationships.
- Performance Management: Implement performance management strategies to evaluate and enhance team effectiveness.
- Collaboration and Outreach: Drive outreach initiatives to expand the organization's impact and reach.
Qualifications:
- Personal experience as a primary caregiver for a loved one facing mental health or substance use challenges is required.
- Residency in specified Maryland counties is mandatory.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or equivalent experience working with families in similar situations.
- At least three years of supervisory experience in the human services sector is essential.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Attention to detail and conflict resolution abilities are critical.
- Experience working with diverse teams in a strengths-based approach.
- Proficiency in technology, including databases and MS Office Suite.
- Flexibility and mission-driven mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the state and possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
