Job Summary:

As a key member of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools team, the Coordinator: Signature Program Site will serve as the community face of the school's Signature Program, providing leadership and liaison support to various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to manage projects, and have experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an effective school-based team to sustain a successful Signature Program.
  • Act as liaison with community stakeholders, including businesses, organizations, and educational institutions, to support ICST in building and maintaining healthy community-based mock interview, job shadow, and internship opportunities for students.
  • Develop and initiate seminars, meetings, and events for students, parents, and business and community leaders regarding the school's Signature program, pathway, and post-secondary opportunities.
  • Attend monthly planning meetings and professional development opportunities with all Signature Program Facilitators and participate on the SPF team with other SPFs and central office staff for countywide Signature program implementation.
  • Work with ICST and others to identify potential grants for external support of school's Signature Programs. Writes grant applications for identified grants and develops and manages budgets as related to grant or program funds.
  • Plans and implements Signature programs and pathways in conjunction with the school's Integrated Community Stakeholder Team (ICST), Signature Lead Teacher, and school's principal.
  • Collects and evaluates data, and completes reports for school-based and county-wide use through surveys, interviews, and professional development information.
  • Plans with school-based administrators to implement Signature initiatives within the school and feeder system and provides leadership in planning and developing Signature-related, interdisciplinary instructional strategies with faculty.
  • Serves as a non-chair member of the School Improvement Team.
  • Collaborates with the school counseling department to develop student interest inventories and activities in support of student pathway selection.
  • Works with school staff to facilitate service learning structure and opportunities related to Signature programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
  • Three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience or as a school counselor required.
  • One (1) year experience working with public school personnel and members of the business community preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • 40% daily day travel within the county to high schools to meet with program leads and perform walkthroughs.
  • Meet with community/business partners to help grow the Signature Programs.

Lead Worker Duties:

  • Trains employees.
  • Directs the work of employees.
  • Maintains records.
  • Provides feedback to assist the supervisor's assessment of the employee's performance.
  • Plans the work.
  • Instructs employees in specific techniques and technical methods to use.
  • Performs same type of work as employees the Lead Worker is assigned to lead.
