Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Automation Controls Engineer to join our team at Blueprint Automation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing packaging machines, as well as providing technical support to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Develop design specifications, control schemes, and automation logic for packaging equipment and integration with information systems.
- Programming and Testing: Author, write, and program automation logic to control packaging machines and communicate information between systems over networks.
- Electrical and Control-Wiring Schematics: Approve the design of electrical/control-wiring schematics for our packaging systems.
- Human Machine Interface (HMI): Develop HMI to meet functional requirements.
- Mentorship and Quality Assurance: Mentor junior-level engineers and ensure high-quality testing.
- Customer Support: Make customer site visits to resolve in-field issues and maintain high awareness of client satisfaction levels.
- Lessons-Learned Meetings: Participate in lessons-learned meetings with team members after program/project completion.
- Travel: Periodic travel up to 15% may be required.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or a related field, with experience in motion controls in the packaging automation industry.
- Programming Skills: Demonstrated ability in programming motion control systems and robotic machines, with competence in robotic and PLC programming (Ladder and structured text).
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ControlLogix PLC, complex PLC-based motion control, and mechanical robotic setups.
- Communication Skills: Ability to interact with clients from project initiation through development and manufacturing.
