NanoString Quality Control Inspector II Job Description

At NanoString, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that enable scientists to explore the universe of biology. As a Quality Control Inspector II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial quality control inspections of incoming raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with inspection plans.
  • Conduct finished instrumentation testing of final assembled instruments to verify quality and performance.
  • Manage quality risk and provide oversight over manufacturing processes by performing necessary quality control checks, including FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Introduction, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Chain partners, to ensure seamless execution of quality control activities.
  • Update inspection specifications and procedures as required, in collaboration with other affected departments.
  • Record nonconformances and support root cause investigations.
  • Manage nonconforming material through disposition.
  • Perform lot validation testing while monitoring and adjusting testing frequencies.
  • Support review and updating of SOPs relating to Quality Control Procedures.
Requirements:
  • Technical diploma or equivalent BS in a technical discipline with hands-on experience in a regulated industry.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a QC inspector in a regulated environment, such as medical device or biotechnology.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with experience in leading or participating in process improvement/lean projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multi-task with demonstrated problem-solving skills in a fast-paced complex environment.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • G&T and CMM testing skills are a plus.
Target Base Salary Range:

$53K-$73K

Base salary is an integral part of NanoString's total compensation package, considering an individual's skills, experience, and competitive market value. The base salary range represents what NanoString pays for a job within a salary grade based on external market data in comparison to similar positions from other companies in our industry.

Other compensation elements include a discretionary annual bonus, incentive compensation for sales roles, Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grants for all new hires, comprehensive benefit plans, and paid time off, including designated holidays.
