Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Everstand is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing mentorship, coaching, and support to young individuals aged 14-20 years old in a residential setting.

Job Summary

The Direct Support Professional will work closely with a team to organize and run programming activities, ensuring the daily schedule of each child meets their goals. This includes assisting with transports to school and offsite appointments, modeling life skill-building activities, and providing support with daily living tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Document daily activities and happenings in the living unit within Everstand's electronic health record system
  • Administer medication according to physician and/or nurse's orders, documenting the medication administration record (MAR)
  • Help implement each child's treatment plan, coaching them on cleanliness and orderliness in their personal hygiene and living unit
  • Link the kids to the medical team if they need anything, support them getting ready for school, and provide safe transportation to scheduled appointments
  • Conduct inventories for resident belongings upon admission, discharge, and on a quarterly basis, engaging the kids in activities and ensuring they are dressed in weather and activity-appropriate clothing
  • Prepare and enjoy meals together as a living unit, completing bed checks for every resident every fifteen minutes and finishing any laundry and cleaning tasks to get ready for the next day
  • Complete a unit inspection checklist to ensure everything is working, supplies are stocked, and the space is safe and well-lit, rotating in the on-call coverage schedule and fostering an atmosphere of collaborative problem-solving among residents and co-workers
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience working in either a children's or an elder care-focused environment
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid, active driver's license with less than 7 points, background check and drug screen required
  • Availability to complete a paid 2-week orientation, which runs Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
