About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Engineer to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our Transportation, Technology, and Operations Department, you will be responsible for leading traffic and transportation planning projects from conception to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Assist in generating proposals and developing scope of work for projects and assignments within the discipline.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor junior engineers to achieve project objectives, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of project team work within the technical discipline.
  • Client and Partner Coordination: Coordinate technical aspects of projects with client counterparts and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to mentor and train junior staff, and proficiency in traffic modeling software such as VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) certification and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience: 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) certification and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification.
